The Liberal Democrats have beaten the Tories and Labour in the European Elections in Weston super Mare and North Somerset, taking almost 15,000 votes in comparison to the Tories 5,000 and Labour's 3,000.

Weston-super-Mare auto parts company to move operations to Europe due to Brexit.
Weston-super-Mare based automotive supply company Eurocams has announced that it will be closing down UK distribution operations and moving part of its business to the Netherlands to avoid tariffs and border checks after the UK leaves the EU.

Council backs action on climate change.
North Somerset Council backed calls for tougher action to tackle climate change this week. A cross-party motion tabled by Lib Dem Councillor Mike Bell was supported unanimously by the council which declared a 'climate emergency' and seeks to make North Somerset carbon neutral by 2030 - amongst the toughest targets in the country.
